Author's presentation inscription, 18th century
Presented by the author to the antiquary Sir Joseph Ayloffe, FRS, FSA, member of Spalding Gentlemen's Society with presentation inscription on front flyleaf: 'The author requests Sir Joseph Ayloffe to do him the favour to receive these annals as a mark of what he feels for his politeness and for his communications'. Ayloffe's library was sold by Leigh and Sotheby soon after his death.
