This loose music fragment was found inside the binding of one volume of the works of the Italian Reformer Girolamo Zanchi. The strip was cut down from a leaf of a Gradual for Sarum Use from the proper chants for Mass on Passion Sunday: Sequence Eripe me domine, Offertory Confitebor tibi domine, Communion Hoc corpus pro vobis; and on Monday in Passion Week: Introit Miserere mei domine.
