Benjamin Kennicott's State of the Collation of the Hebrew Manuscripts of the Old Testament
Kennicott used the periodical to inform subscribers of his ongoing work to collate the Hebrew manuscripts of the Old Testament. While claiming that the decision to publish a yearly update stemmed from the ‘public nature’ of his work, these publications also advertised it to potential investors.
